Pleasure Victim is the second studio album by the American New Wave band Berlin, released in 1982. It is by far Berlin’s best selling album, certified gold by the RIAA in September 1984and platinum in February 1993.
The album was initially released in 1982 by Enigma Records. After radio stations began playing its first single, “Sex (I’m A…)”, Pleasure Victim was re-released by Geffen Records in 1983. Two subsequent singles followed: “The Metro”, considered a “masterpiece” of 80s synth pop, and “Masquerade”. All three singles charted on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Sex (I’m A…)” reached #18 on the New Zealand singles chart, #62 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #8 on the US Hot Dance Club Chart.
The European versions of the 12″ single added an Instrumental and previous single “Pleasure Victim” as a double A side.
