Carly Elisabeth Simon (born June 25, 1945) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and children’s author. She rose to fame in the 1970s with a string of hit records, and has since been the recipient of two Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award for her work. Throughout her career, she has amassed a total of 13 Top 40 Hits including “You’re So Vain”, “Nobody Does It Better” and “Coming Around Again”.
In 1985, she signed with Epic Records and made one album for them, Spoiled Girl. This was her 12th studio album and was recorded with a variety of producers in New York. It was Simon’s only album for Epic Records, and peaked at #88 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 200 album chart.
The first single from the album “Tired Of Being Blonde” peaked at #70 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and was followed up with “My New Boyfriend” which was produced by Paul Samwell-Smith (The Yardbirds) and remixed by Arthur Baker for the 12″ release.
