Five Star – Hide And Seek (1984)

Five Star (also styled as 5 Star) are a British pop / R&B group, formed in 1983. Comprising siblings Stedman, Lorraine, Denise, Doris and Delroy Pearson, they were known for their flamboyant image, matching costumes and heavily choreographed dance routines. Five Star achieved a string of Top 40 singles and albums in the UK between 1985 and 1988.

Five Star released their debut album “Luxury Of Life” in 1985, though not a great success when it was first released in the summer of 1985, the album eventually peaked at no.12 in early 1986, and spent a total of 70 weeks on the album chart. It was certified Platinum in October 1986 for sales of over 300,000 copies in the UK.

The first single released from the album was “Hide And Seek” which was remixed by Francois Kevorkian for the 12″ single.

The album “Luxury Of Life” was re-released in 2010 by Cherry Red with some 12″ remix bonus tracks but unfortunately “Hide And Seek” was not included.
