Joan Armatrading ‎– Kind Words (And A Real Good Heart) (1986)

Joan Anita Barbara Armatrading, MBE (born 9 December 1950) is a British singer, songwriter and guitarist.Armatrading is a three-time Grammy Award-nominee and has been nominated twice for BRIT Awards as Best Female Artist. She also received an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contemporary Song Collection in 1996. In a recording career spanning 40 years she has released a total of 18 studio albums, as well as several live albums and compilations.

In 1986, Armatrading released her tenth studio album Sleight Of Hand. In a 1986 interview, Armatrading said of the album that she considered it to be one of her best and that it was “an overall rock album as opposed to a jazz song here and another bit there. It’s a complete album in terms of sound and songs.”

“Kind Words (And A Real Good Heart)” was released as a single in May 1986 and charted at number 81 in the UK singles chart and number 37 in the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
