Loose Ends was a successful British R&B band that had several urban contemporary hits. The trio was formed in London in 1980, initially comprising vocalist and guitarist Carl McIntosh, vocalist Jane Eugene, and keyboard player, writer and founder Steve Nichol. The latter two left the group in 1989, bringing an end to the band’s most successful phase.

“Magic Touch ” is the fifth single from Loose Ends second studio album, So Where Are You?, and was released in May 1985 by Virgin Records. In the group’s native UK, the single reached number 16.

Loose Ends – Mr. Bachelor (1988)

The Real Chuckeeboo was the fourth album by British R&B group Loose Ends. It is the last album to feature all three original members; Carl McIntosh, Jane Eugene and Steve Nichol. Mainly written and produced by Loose Ends and co-produced by longtime collaborator Nick Martinelli, it also features contributions from Leon Ware and Caron Wheeler.

At this point in their career, the band were not only performing but writing and producing tracks for Juliet Roberts, Phyllis Hyman, Five Star, Peter Royer, Cheryl Lynn, and Lavine Hudson.

The Real Chuckeeboo reached #52 in the United Kingdom. In the USA it peaked at #16 on the R&B chart and #80 on the Billboard albums chart.

The first single to be released from “The Real Chuckeeboo” was “Mr.Bachelor” which reached #50 on the UK Charts and #11 on the US R&B charts.

The US 12″ featured additional production by Jeff Lorber and remixes by Louil Silas Jr.

Loose Ends – Ooh, You Make Me Feel (Remix) (1987)

Loose Ends was a successful British R&B band that had several urban contemporary hits. The trio was formed in London in 1980, initially comprising vocalist and guitarist Carl McIntosh, vocalist Jane Eugene, and keyboard player, writer and founder Steve Nichol. The latter two left the group in 1989, bringing an end to the band’s most successful phase.

In 1986, Loose Ends released Zagora on MCA Records, their third studio album. The album spawned five singles, the most successful of these was the second single “Slow Down” which hit #27 on the UK charts and #1 on the US R&B charts, this was followed up by the release of “Nights Of Pleasure” and “Ooh, You Make Me Feel”.

“Ooh, You Make Me Feel” was produced by Nick Martinelli and remixed by Bruce Weeden, David Todd and Nick Martinelli.

Loose Ends was a successful British R&B band that had several urban contemporary hits. The trio was formed in London in 1980, initially comprising vocalist and guitarist Carl McIntosh, vocalist Jane Eugene, and keyboard player, writer and founder Steve Nichol. The latter two left the group in 1989, bringing an end to the band’s most successful phase.

They achieved their first success with “Hangin’ on a String (Contemplating)” in 1985, which reached #13 in the UK chart. “Hangin’ on a String” also reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard R&B chart, making Loose Ends the first British band ever to top that chart. They reached #16 with the single “Magic Touch” in the same year.

Loose Ends ninth single was “Nights Of Pleasure” from the Zagora album, the track reached #42 on the UK singles chart and #58 on the US Billboard Hot Black Singles.

The UK double 12″ added remixes by Dancin’ Danny D to the original remix by Nick Martinelli.
