Thomas Dolby – Airhead (1988)

Thomas Dolby (born Thomas Morgan Robertson; 14 October 1958) is an English musician and producer. Best known for his 1982 hit “She Blinded Me with Science”, and 1984 single “Hyperactive!”, he has also worked extensively in production and as a session musician.

Aliens Ate My Buick was the third studio LP release by Thomas Dolby. It peaked at #30 in the UK Albums Chart. The album’s sales were disappointing and reviews were mixed. The lead single from the album, “Airhead”, peaked at #53.

Dolby has said in interviews that he believes the album’s commercial failure was due to his change in musical direction, evident on the album. Expectations of songs in the mould of “She Blinded Me With Science” and “Hyperactive!” were met only by the track, “Airhead”.

The 12″ single of Airhead contained remixes by Francois Kevorkian with the Extended Version appearing both on the CD single and the 12×12 Original Remixes compilation.
