Joe Jackson is an English musician and singer/songwriter. He is probably best known for his 1979 hit song “Is She Really Going Out With Him?” and for his 1982 hit “Steppin’ Out”.
In 1984, Jackson recorded the UK #14 album “Body and Soul”, which continued to incorporate the elements of pop and jazz standards and salsa that his earlier recordings had. The first single released from the album was “You Can’t Get What You Want (Till You Know What You Want)” which was US #15 hit single.
The single, although not an obvious contender for the dancefloor, benefited greatly from the John “Jellybean” Benitez remix on the UK & US A&M 12″ single.
